The 8th Generation Gaming Console

During the harsh(!) winter of 2010, I started getting ideas of doing a video game project which should end up being my graduation project at NoMA. My goal was to design a new gaming platform for the upcoming 8. generation, followed by a brand new game title accompanying this console on its release. The project was approved and started in May, and in the project period I got the chance to work with a lot of different aspects of Multimedia Design, including 3D modelling, character design, drawing, desktop publishing, web development and marketing.

The project was supported by a report containing everything from market analyses to story writing, and was presented at NoMA in June where it was awarded with a grade 12!

City Kolding

Ever since the large-scale shopping centre “Kolding Storcenter” switched on its revolving doors for the first time in 1993, the city core is said to have suffered from a decreasing number of customers due to their “migration” to the centre. The goal of this project was to help City Kolding, a support group financed by merchants having their business in the city and the objective was to attract more people to the downtown district of Kolding. We decided that our main target should be teens because especially this group is known to have left the city in favour of the centre.

One of the planned initiatives was a an advertising film which would have to be filmed downtown, but it was quite a challenge to record this film due to the unsuitable weather conditions during the entire project period! Under normal circumstances, it would have been appropriate to postpone the recording, but due to the relatively short project period and soon commensing deadline we had to shoot it despite these conditions.

We also designed a collection of posters and screensavers, which could be used on the public computers and info stands around the city.

The project group consisted of Maria Duedal, Kristoffer Jeberg, Casper Jørgensen, Louise Klitsgaard and Lars Nørgaard.

Bianco Footwear

This was a project enquired by Bianco Footwear, a Danish shoe company with its chain office in Kolding. What we wanted to do was to find a way to reduce the use of plastic and paper bags in order to reduce the environmental impact. At the same time we wanted to invent a new bag for their stores which would catch peoples attention on the street.

The result was three prototypes of shoeboxes, which were all constructed so that they functioned as combined shoeboxes and carrying bags. Thereby it was possible to avoid the environmental impact related to the production and disposal of the now redundant conventional carrying bag.
